Offer in Compromise
The best solution for your tax problem will depend
on your specific situation. One of the most powerful settlement options,
particularly if you owe over $25,000, is the IRS' Offer in Compromise program.
This program allows us to pursue a specific dollar
settlement for you based entirely upon your particular circumstances.
NOTE: If you have any unfiled returns,
they will need to be filed prior to submitting an Offer in Compromise. (We'll of course be happy to help you with
this unless you have a tax preparer you're happy with.
In order for us to know whether you
qualify, and how much of a settlement the IRS would accept if you do qualify, we
need to know two things:
What's the total amount you owe the IRS
including penalties and interest?
What does your "financial snapshot" look like?
To get
this information we'll ask you to fill out the IRS Collection Information
Statement,
Form 433-A. If you're self-employed and your business is
incorporated, we'll also need to get a separate statement showing your business
"snapshot", Form 433-B.)
For a low fee, we can do an informal review
of your situation to see if you would qualify for an Offer in Compromise,
and also, what approximate range of settlement your situation would qualify for.
(Call or e-mail us for details!)
Since we'll be using the information you
provide for estimating the offer amount that you would qualify for, it's very
important to be as accurate as possible.
One other piece of good news:
Congress recently passed a new law allowing Offer in Compromise settlements to
be paid over as much as 18-24 months...even more in some cases! You're no
longer faced with the task of coming up with a lump-sum settlement over 30 or 60
days!
If you want to find out if an Offer in
Compromise is for you, call or e-mail us right now!
Every situation is different, but below are
